The Homes Operations team at Airbnb includes a talented team of Partner Managers that focus on specific regions across the globe.

A key focus will be on building and scaling new and existing API partnerships to acquire and optimize supply for a variety of verticals ranging from property managers in vacation rental markets to boutique hotels and serviced apartments in urban markets. This role has the critical responsibility of ensuring that high-quality listings span their area of focus. The role will further develop our API partner network across the region and accelerate the growth of our supply across the top markets.

Responsibilities

Business Ownership
    • Responsible for analyzing, planning, prioritizing, executing, monitoring and iterating on targeted supply partner acquisition, penetration and optimization strategies
    • Manage mutually sustainable relationships for a portfolio of key API partnerships through quarterly business reviews with API partners
    • Communicate key learnings to the wider territory and regional team

Acquisition, Onboarding, Penetration, Optimization & Account Management
    • Acquire, onboard and launch a portfolio of new API partnerships each quarter, including lead identification, opportunity screening, contract negotiation, technical on-boarding and developing and implementing subsidizing and incentivization schemes for commercial scaling of the partnership on the API partner level
    • Drive supply penetration for a portfolio of key existing API partnerships with relevant supply in the region by developing and implementing sustainable acquisition & onboarding campaigns on the partner level, as well as setting up and leading projects for cooperating with internal and external sales, onboarding and account management teams to drive campaigns on the host level
    • Optimize existing supply from API partnerships focussed on conversion and utilization metrics by ensuring supply is high-quality, competitively priced and offers maximum availability for Airbnb’s guest audience before, during and after peak booking seasons
    • Account manage key API partners and continuously improve partner integrations through rolling out and ramping new API features among regional API partners, and ensuring high adoption rates among API partners, by supporting the technical implementation of these on the partner side in cooperation with Airbnb’s technical consulting team, as well as maintaining a close feedback loop with our API product and engineering teams

Strategic Partner Development
    • Identify key barriers and levers that can significantly impact API partnerships and esp. cross-listed supply in destination markets and work to address with key internal stakeholders and cross functional teams
    • Advocate for and pioneer innovative features for API partnerships to ensure Airbnb provides a world-class hosting platform for API partners and their hosts

Requirements
    • 3+ years professional experience in a fast paced preferably startup, e-commerce, or marketplace environment in the travel industry.
    • Analytical abilities to identify high-impact opportunities and objectively evaluate partnerships and projects (e.g. SQL skills are a bonus)
    • Technically savvy (e.g. experience with XML and REST APIs is a great plus, as a successful candidate would need knowledge in this area or be ready to acquire knowledge in this area)
    • Project management experience to develop and execute campaigns cooperating with sales and account management teams
    • Profound relationship management skills leading to sustainable, fast-scaling, and world-class implemented technical and commercial partnerships
    • Experience working cross-functionally with technical consulting, sales, account management, product, engineering and marketing teams
    • Can represent the Airbnb tone and brand in public-facing communications
    • Proven track record as a self-starter who can execute in a high-performance and ambiguous environment
    • Local knowledge from solid operational experience in the region
    • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills (must-have)
    • Passion for Airbnb, travel, and the sharing economy. Being a host on Airbnb is a plus!
